Ja' Pants
"This piece is unique, there are no two alike, and that makes it a special piece for you.
The reason why your piece is unique is because we create each piece one by one, using white textile as a canvas and manipulating it with our artisanal techniques, meaning our products do not go through a mass or industrialized process.
The name
Ja' means water in the indigenous Maya language, which is primarily spoken in the Yucatán and Quintana Roo regions of Mexico.
The inspiration
On this occasion, we were inspired by the shades offered by the spectacular Caribbean Sea. These shades awaken fascination and serenity in those who contemplate them. The crystalline waters reflect a range of blues as diverse as the sea itself. From the bright turquoise blue that unfolds on white sandy beaches to the deep and mysterious blue that ventures into the depths of the sea. The shades vary depending on the time of day and the position of the sun, creating a play of light and shadows that gives a constant sense of movement. With this artisanal print, we seek to capture these various shades and reflections that are created when our pigments come into contact with water, using these white shirts as our canvas.
The role of time in your piece
The role that time plays in creating these unique pieces is fundamental as it is directly related to the process of ice melting. The speed at which ice melts is directly related to the time it is given. Heat and environmental conditions influence the pace of this natural process and therefore influence the final result of the textile print pattern we create on each garment. Sufficient time allows the ice to melt gradually, resulting in a smooth and controlled transition. On the other hand, if little time is given, the melting can be abrupt and chaotic. Understanding and respecting the necessary time for ice melting in our process is essential to achieve these textile prints, generating unique textures in each application."
